Who Is Milani?
Milani was founded in 2002 by the sibling duo Ralph Bijou and Laurie Minc. Milani is the sister company to Jordana Cosmetics, specializing in a variety of cruelty-free products that are inexpensively chic. The company name was inspired by the mystique and the luxe sensibilities of Milan, Italy, as well as its legacy of high-end and cutting-edge fashion. Milani is focused on expanding an under-represented niche; the beauty maven on a budget. By catering to this little-served population, Milani’s consumer base has grown exponentially. The company has been valued at $500 million and boasts yearly sales of more than $35 million. Milani cosmetics are available in 75 countries around the globe. Its success lies in its extensive collection of products that cater to a variety of skin tones. Their philosophy is that beauty doesn’t have to come at a price, but it should be quality. “To me, at the end of the day, consumers want the same end benefit, and why should quality products be limited only to prestige?” a Milani representative stated recently at a press conference. “There’s [been] a real democratization of beauty.” The democratization of beauty has begun with Milani’s full impact line. Their cosmetics focuses on a wide array of choices, including lips, eyes, face and even brushes.
Milani Cosmetics Lip Lines
Although we love Milani’s bold and creamy Lip Cremes as well as their lipsticks, we’d love for them to have a wider range of colors and pigments. However, the colors they do have are intense. We’re especially fans of their Color Statement Matte Lipsticks. This lipstick line comes in 24 shades. We’re a little disappointed that there aren’t more vivacious reds, but if you’re looking for a deep burgundy or a warm rose, you’re in luck. Milani’s Amore Shine Liquid Lip Color has a creamy, nourishing texture we adore as well as about 13 vibrant colors. If you like the look of fuller lips, you can try Milani’s collection of lip plumpers. The Milani ‘Keep It Nourishing Lip Plumpers,’ have a bevy of colors, and this includes their Holiday Edition line and lip plumper Trio. The lip plumpers not only smooths and moisturizes, but it also boosts collagen production for a fuller lip.
Milani Cosmetics Blush Lines
Milani offers several lines of blush. These lines include Rose Powder Blush and Color Harmony Blush. You can also purchase their shimmering face palette as well as the Rose Blush Trio Palette. Each selection of blush has multiple colors. The Baked Blush features twelve rosy colors in myriad earth tones and the Rose Powder offers four and the Color Harmony Blush line has four different blending palettes with three colors each. With all these options, there’s sure to be something for everyone. We personally loved the Rose Powder Blushes for a sweet, barely-there glow. That’s not to say we don’t recommend any of the other blush colors. In fact, if you’re looking for an intense blush that’s cheeky (pun!) and pigmented, you should definitely look into the Baked Blush line. The Baked Blush line has colors that really stand out. If you’re looking for a bit more shimmer, you should try Milani’s Luminoso Shimmering Face Palette. It has both warm and cool tones that are perfect for a nice, blush buildup or a sweet gentle glow.

Milani Eyeshadow Review
Milani boasts ten colorful and highly pigmented eyeshadows. If you’re looking for smoky and provocative, you can try the Gilded Rouge Eyeshadow Palette or the Soft & Sultry Eyeshadow Palette. If you’re looking for trendy and neutral, they’ve got the Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. For a vibrant pop of great color, Milani rolled out the Gilded Jade Hyper-Pigmented Eye & Face Palette. If you’re looking for anything in between, you have six other color palettes to choose from. You may not be able to choose just one. You can build a variety of looks mixing and matching different palettes and you may find that an awesome cut crease will be a breeze with their large selection.

Milani Cosmetics Concealers and Foundations
A perfect makeup look is just like a great house—it begins with a good, solid foundation! Milani’s Conceal and Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation leaves no tone behind. From the lightest alabaster to the duskiest brown and everything in between, there is a shade for everyone. It is also water-resistant. If you’re in doubt, their “Find Your Shade” menu has some of the top cosmetic shade around so you can find a shade in their line that is comparable. We found this foundation to be smooth and with a high-end satiny finish. This product is also available in a stick as well. The Smooth Finish Cream To Powder Makeup is not as extensive but is worth a grab if you’re looking for an intense full-coverage foundation with a light look. It is also formulated for light diffusion, so if you want to take flawless pics, you won’t have to worry about a powdery, ghost-like look. Milani also has a collection of concealers and their Retouch + Erase Light Lifting Concealer was especially our fave. There is also the Conceal + Perfect All-In-One Correcting Kit which is great for getting rid of under-eye circles. Our only caveat is that it may not be the best product for those with dry skin.
Other Milani Products
The Milani site has other products that can enhance a makeup routine. This includes setting powders and sprays, primers, highlighters & bronzers, and face brushes. You can also purchase kits and even this cool, sweet sugar lip scrub. They also offer a line of facial oils and skin-care products. The Rose Face Oil contains all-natural ingredients like vitamin C, sweet almond and abyssinica oils. They also feature some vegan products including this Stay Put Brow Color and Make It Last Setting Spray.

Final Thoughts on Milani
Milani has grown exponentially over the years. They’ve widened their selection and have paid attention to the needs and wants of their growing consumer base. We love that they are in touch with their fans and detractors alike. They interact often with individuals on social media and feature many of their everyday customers on their site. They are also available at a variety of locations, and if you’re in a jam, you can even swing by your local drugstore and find their products there as well. They insist on creating quality products at prices anyone can afford.
